From 1 to 3 July, EUREGHA joined partners in the picturesque city of Vienna for the ONCODIR project consortium meeting. The three-day gathering marked a significant milestone for the project, fostering collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision for advancing the primary prevention of colorectal cancer in Europe through multidisciplinary research and AI-driven tools.

The first day of the meeting was dedicated to overviews from different WPs, setting a collaborative tone for the days ahead. Of particular interest to EUREGHA were WP2 on “Participatory Implementation Research Framework and System Co-Design”, with a spotlight on the definition of end-user needs and the identification of behavioural barriers to CRC prevention, and WP7 on “Synergistic Impact creation & Bottom-up Innovation”, especially ahead of the first Prevention and Early Detection Cluster meeting in September.

The second day was dedicated to in-depth discussions and workshops. Breakout sessions focused on various aspects of the ONCODIR project, including data integration and analysis, end-user requirements, pilot testing, and engagement methods for citizens, clinicians and policymakers. The collaborative spirit was palpable as participants engaged in lively debates and brainstorming sessions.

The final day of the meeting was dedicated to strategic planning and setting future directions for the ONCODIR project. Consortium members participated in a series of workshops to refine the project’s roadmap and identify key milestones for the coming year.
