EUREGHA – the reference network of European Regional and Local Health Authorities – is pleased to invite you to the meeting organised by the Committee of the Regions’ Interregional Group on Health and Well-being:
As a pillar of the European Health Union project, the European Health Data Space, officially proposed by the European Commission in May 2022, can represent a game changer for the health and well-being of people across Europe. In this context, regional and local authorities are key contributors to putting in place the new EU infrastructure, as they are those responsible for the organisation of health and social care services in most Members States, as well as promoters of research, and in building people’s trust in this new framework, as the interface between citizens and national and European dimension.
In light of ongoing negotiations within the Council and European Parliament, this (in-person) meeting aims to deepen the CoR’s perspective on the establishment of the EHDS and further discuss the role and capacities of regions in implementing this new ambitious framework, so that the objectives set can be achieved and potential challenges addressed properly.
