EUREGHA is pleased to invite you to its session organised in the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities 2024:

“Strengthening Europe’s Healthcare Workforce: Attracting and retaining talent in a regional context”

 10 October 2024, 11:30-12:30

European Committee of the Regions, Brussels

The session, organised in collaboration with the CoR’s NAT Commission, will focus on the shortages, poor working conditions and skills mismatches that heavily impact health systems’ performance and access to care. Attracting and retaining talents in regions is strategic to invert this scenario. This interactive session will unite regional representatives and experts to discuss challenges and solutions to strengthen Europe’s health workforce and increasing the sector’s attractiveness, aligning with existing EU initiatives like DG REGIO’s Harnessing Talent Platform and the Pact for Skills.

Speakers:

  • Leonie Martin, Policy Officer at European Hospital and Healthcare Employers’ Association (HOSPEEM)
  • José Diniz, Doctor at ULS São José (PT) and PhD Candidate in Health Data Science at Universidade do Porto
  • Birgitta Sacrédeus, Chair of the Interregional Group on Health and Wellbeing, Committee of the Regions

Moderator: Michele Calabro’, Director, European Regional and Local Health Authorities (EUREGHA).
