Our General Assembly elected a new Executive Board to lead EUREGHA for the next two years.
Eight regional and local delegates from across Europe were elected at the EUREGHA’s General Assembly in Melk, Lower Austria. Executive Board members play a crucial role in steering the association. The Executive Board is, indeed, the implementing organ of the network and is responsible for the decisions to be submitted to the General Assembly
Incoming Chair Nick Batey said: “EUREGHA’s initiative is not just about healthcare. Our objective is to create a much stronger community of practitioners and professionals who work towards a set of common goals. We are all facing similar challenges, the faster we address those challenges building relationships, links and connections among stakeholders, the more effective will be the impact on European citizens’ life.”
EUREGHA’s vice-Chair, César Velasco Muñoz affirmed that “we need to go beyond the healthcare system and think about what citizens need to be healthy”.
The new Executive Board will steer the association in a crucial period for the future of the European Union and the health policies. Even though healthcare within the European Union is predominantly a competence of the Member States, regions and local authorities share responsibilities and competencies in the sector. This is why EUREGHA and its Executive Board members will commit to ensure Health in all Regions.
