On Tuesday the 17th September, EUREGHA organised a Members Roundtable discussion on the Cross-Border Patients’ Mobility Directive.
A Policy Officer from DG SANCO gave an overview of the Directive. Speakers from Region Skåne (SE), North of England EU Health Partnership (UK) and Flanders Region (BE) then gave regional testimonies of the implementation of the Directive in their areas. This was followed with an open discussion between the EUREGHA Members and the speakers which proved very interesting. This was focused on four key themes:
• Information for patient and National Contact Points.
• Prior authorisation.
• Patient flows – regional impact?
• Different regulatory systems within a Member State – how will this affect the Directive?
